What is Shop4mama-Kenya?

It is an online shop for Kenyans living abroad.  Wherever Kenyans are in the world, they can shop and feed their loved ones back home. It gives you a chance to do a surprising treat for your loved ones back in Kenya.  It is the only online shop of its kind for Kenyans.  You could buy Kimbo, Royko, Jogoo, Rice, just name it you will get it at shop4mama-Kenya website.

You also have a choice of sending your loved ones Nakumatt Vouchers and and they can buy whatever they wish. You can pick and mix shopping and vouchers.  Its all your choice.  More....

Shop4mama-Kenya also provides mobile phone credit facilities.  You can purchase the credit and we will credit the phone of your loved one in Kenya.

 Why This Service?

The idea is that you are guaranteed your folks and friends will get exactly what you want them to get.  This service will provide a channel for you to do what you would normally do for your family if you still based in Kenya.  We also believe that this service willguarantee you that your folks will get your choice of shopping.

This service is extremely useful for those with children in boarding schools.  This will guarantee that once you shop everything they need for the term you do not have to worry again.  It also avoids them putting the money you have sent for shopping into other useses.  All you need is to go to Back to School  section and pick everything the child needs for school.

 How do I Shop?

The items are categorised into different groups.  You first click on the category you want to shop and search for the item, choose the item you want to buy and the quantity.  After you choose, click on the add to basket button.  Once you are done with picking the items you wish to buy, then you proceed to the shopping basket where you will get the total cost of your items.  Remember, you can remove products from your basket or stop the ordering process at any time.

This service is available to any Kenyan living anywhere in the world.  In order to be able to pay for the items you will need to create an account with us by registering online.   Once registered you will be given an order number.  This will help you track your order online.  How do you process the Order?

Shop4mama-Kenya will do the shopping, package it, label it and enclose the order with the shopping.  We will then contact your beneficiary to advice them where the package will be collected from.  We will endeavour to give them the nearerst pick up point to them. Is it Safe to use my Card Online?

Yes.  We use Paypal which is one of the safest method of paying over the Internet.  It offers payment solutions which allows credit/debit/visa payments securely via the Internet.  Approved by all the major banks, Paypal offers the latest fraud checking software.

We do not store or keep anyone's bank/card details.

Can I Pay by Postal Order/Money Order?

If you have no credit/debit card we may accept. UK Postal Orders.  But please before you make your order do contact us so that we can give you the details to put on the money order/postal order.

How does the recipient know of the Order?

Once you order your goods, you will be asked for the recipients contact (we prefer mobile phones).  Once we have shopped and packaged the goods, we will contact your family/friend in Kenya by SMS and tell them there is a package awating collection by them and tell them the pick up point. You too can tell them of the Order and where to collect it from.  You could also give them our Nairobi contact address and telephone number.  We will keep in touch with you by email to keep you informed of the progress.  In case you have no e-mail and you want to check something you could contact us directly by phone.  How is the Order delivered?

We have pick-up points within the major towns in Kenya.  We will aim to have done your shopping ready for pick up within 72 hours the latest.  In most cases it takes shorter time than that.If you wish a pick a point other than the ones listed, please do contact us and we will endeavour our utmost to see what we could do for you. We understand how difficullty it could be when you want to shop or help your family at home especially those who do not live with big cities. We will always try to workout something for you. It is our aim in the long run to reach the most inaccessible areas but this will require time and understanding from all our customers. Do you deliver to home addresses?

We only deliver the very big domestic items but only within a certain radius of Nairobi.  More info at Process & Delivery page...

What if the Pick-Up Points are too far for my family?

If for example your family home is in the outskirts of your nearest big city; we will liaise with you and your family who could advice of the easiest means of delivering the goods to them.  This could be either a matatu, a bus or a building/shop which is nearer to them and where the goods could be left for pick up.  We will of course endeavour to verify any  method before we use it.  We believe we could help each other where circumstances demand so.  Of course in most cases we will makes arrangements ourselves and will only need help in extreme situations.  More info at Process & Delivery page...

Can Shop4mama-Kenya deliver flowers and gifts?

Do the goods have to be signed for?

Definitely! The person whose contact you write on your order has to pick the package themselves and have a form of identification to be able to pick the goods up.  If the person cannot make it, you could alway give us a different contact name and phone number.  We do not wish the goods to land in the wrong hands.

If you are shopping for a child going back to school and they have no ID; we might allow them to show their mobile message confirming their order number from you the sender. This will avoid anyone getting hold of your child's message and resending them message to themselves.  We will require you to inform us in advance if the person collecting the goods is a minor.
